Mental strength without gripping harder

Climbing-based therapy, mindfulness training, eating disorder prevention & recovery, and community building

You don’t have to grip that hard

Every fall teaches something

Every body belongs on the wall

Individual therapy for climbers that targets grip, grit, and growth to help climbers increase mental toughness, overcome performance anxiety, and ultimately, protect the joy of climbing. We will look at your patterns on and off the wall to help you move through life’s toughest cruxes with steadier mind-body connection and a friendlier relationship with your body.

Overcome Performance Anxiety: Untangle your self-worth from grades, sends, and perfectionism.

Grip, Grit, & Growth: Shift away from over-gripping and move toward a steadier, more intuitive mind-body connection.

Protect the Joy: Learn from the unique wisdom of climbing to navigate life’s difficult transitions, anxiety, and trauma with a grounded perspective.

Many climbers have heard some version of the same message: lighter is stronger.
Sometimes it is said directly. Sometimes it is implied through comments at the gym, social media posts, coaching cues, climbing culture, or the quiet comparison that happens when we look around and wonder whose body “looks like” a climber’s body.
This message can be tempting for us to internalize because it offers a simple explanation for a complex sport. If I were lighter, maybe the move would feel easier. If I changed my body, maybe I would climb harder. If I controlled my weight, maybe I would feel more in control of my climbing.
But bodies are not projects to be conquered. And climbing performance is not determined by weight alone.
Strength, technique, mobility, recovery, coordination, confidence, nutrition, sleep, injury history, stress, accessibility, hormones, nervous system, psychological safety, and community all matter. When we reduce climbing to a weight-to-strength ratio, we risk losing the very thing that brought many of us to the sport: the joy of movement, problem solving, connection, and play.
